FAQs
Your Notary Questions Answered - Quick, Clear, and Concise.
You’ll need a valid, government-issued photo ID like a driver’s license, state ID, or passport. Colorado law allows IDs that are expired less than one year, but valid IDs are preferred. The document must also be complete—we cannot notarize anything with blank spaces.
Yes! We offer mobile notary services for seniors and those with limited mobility. The signer must still be alert, willing, and able to understand what they are signing. If the signer doesn’t have ID, Colorado law allows for one credible witness, who must provide ID and sign an affidavit.
No. Colorado law requires a physical ID. Digital driver’s licenses or photos of IDs on your phone are not accepted for notarizations due to the risk of fraud.
In Colorado, notaries charge $15 per notarized signature. I also charge a $45 mobile travel fee for appointments within a 15-mile radius of Greeley. For locations beyond that, it's $0.67 per additional mile (based on the 2025 IRS mileage rate). All fees are confirmed in advance so there are no surprises.
Yes. Under Colorado law (updated in 2025), I can notarize documents written in any language as long as the notarial certificate is in English. If we don’t share a common language, you may use an interpreter. The interpreter must not be a party to the document, must be present during the appointment, and their info will be recorded in my notary journal. I do not verify the content of the document or the accuracy of the translation.
Yes, the document should be completely filled out but NOT signed or dated until we're together. If you have questions about how to complete it, please contact the person who gave it to you or consult an attorney—we can’t give legal advice.
